Sons of the American Legion Detachment of Indiana
Charles Gemlich was elected Detachment Commander at the annual Detachment Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 9, 2022, by the delegates representing the 35,000 members of the Sons of The American Legion.
Commander Gemlich has the distinct honor and privilege of being a proud 48-year charter member of the Sons of The American Legion, Boonville Squadron 200 in the 8th District.
His eligibility for membership is through his father, Charles O. Gemlich, who served honorably in the United States Army in WWll from 1941-1944, was a Prisoner of War, receiving a Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars.
Gemlich resides in Boonville, Indiana. He has a sister, Ruth; brother-in-law, Ron Brothers; two nephews, Chris Brothers and wife Angie, T.J. Brothers and wife Michelle; also, a great-nephew and great-niece Bo and Vada Brothers.

Gemlich’s Commanders Project is Operation Comfort Warriors. Donations will be accepted at all district and detachment meetings or may be mailed directly to the Sons of The American Legion, Detachment of Indiana, earmarked for Operation Comfort Warriors.
